Privacy policy
This policy describes how AImpact collects, uses and protects the personal data you share with us. It's written in plain language because we believe privacy isn't a legal checklist — it's a way of acting.
1. Data controller
AImpact is a volunteer collective of technology professionals, without legal personality. We're not a registered company or association. For any question about personal data, you can reach us by email at hello@aimpactnetwork.com.
2. What data we collect
The website itself collects no personal data. We don't use cookies, we don't use analytics, we have no social-media pixels, and there are no native forms on the site.
The personal data we collect comes exclusively from the Tally forms we use to receive applications from organisations and signups from volunteers. Tally is a Belgian company; data is stored on servers in the European Union. When you fill in one of these forms, you share with us:
- Your name and email address
- Your role — your function in the organisation you represent, or your technical profile if you're signing up as a volunteer
- Context for your request — the problem you'd like to see solved (organisations), or the areas you can contribute to, your availability and motivation (volunteers)
- Optionally, a link to LinkedIn, GitHub or portfolio (only in the volunteer form)
3. What we use it for
We use this data for a single set of purposes:
- To evaluate your application or expression of interest
- To contact you during triage and during the project, if we proceed
- To keep an internal record of the collective's work
We don't use the data for marketing, we don't add you to a newsletter, and we don't train AI models with what you send us.
4. How long we keep it
We keep the data from a declined application for up to 12 months after the final decision, so we can respond to follow-up questions. After that, we delete it.
If we move forward with a project, we keep the data for as long as the project runs and for a reasonable post-delivery follow-up period, defined in the Letter of Commitment.
5. Who we share it with
Your answers are stored in Tally, on servers in the European Union, subject to Tally's privacy policy. Internal access is restricted to members of AImpact who handle project triage and volunteer applications.
We don't share your data with any other party. We don't sell it, we don't trade it, we don't pass it on.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction of incorrect data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw your consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@aimpactnetwork.com. We respond within 30 days.
7. Updates
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above. We don't send individual notices because we don't keep an email list for that.
